Most newborns need eight to 12 feedings a day — about one feeding every two to three hours ||Colostrum is rich with all what baby needs for the first 2-3 days till the breast begins to produce milk ||It’s never too early to read for your child ||The pacifier’s guard or shield should have ventilation holes so the baby can breathe if the shield does get into the mouth ||Reading aloud will help your baby be a better reader when she's older ||There are parenting mistakes that are harmless. When in doubt, ask your pediatrician ||The only acceptable punishment for our children is time-out. No spanking, no shouting and no threatening ||Don't forget to watch what you say and do around your child: Imitation is one of the ways toddlers learn socially acceptable behavior. ||Don't ever be afraid to ask for help from a friend or relative. Time away will let you recharge. ||During the day, don't try to catch up on chores while the baby sleeps. Lie down and rest ||

If the child is having a balanced diet, healthy water to drink as described under the same section, he should not be in need of extra vitamins or minerals. One important exception is vitamin D. Our bodies naturally acquire vitamin D from exposure to the direct sun light. If your child is not adequately exposed to the sunlight than he/she will need vitamin D supplementation of at least 200 Units/day.
