Not crying and not comparing with other kids ||Always check the water temperature with your hand before bathing your baby. Be sure the room is comfortably warm, too ||Massaging infants' arms and hands can significantly reduce their pain from needle sticks ||Contact the doctor if your newborn isn't gaining weight, wets fewer than six diapers a day or shows little interest in feedings ||Only close friends and relatives should visit you during your first month at home. They should not visit if they are sick ||Don’t rush into solving your kid's problems. Give him the chance to conclude, all on his own, that things are going to be okay. ||Always keep the number of Poison Centre posted beside your phone ||

If the child is having a balanced diet, healthy water to drink as described under the same section, he should not be in need of extra vitamins or minerals. One important exception is vitamin D. Our bodies naturally acquire vitamin D from exposure to the direct sun light. If your child is not adequately exposed to the sunlight than he/she will need vitamin D supplementation of at least 200 Units/day.
