Set aside time for your partner and share what's happening in each other's life ||Your toddler may be clumsy simply due to her trials to master so many new physical skills at the same time. The more active she is, the more likely she will drop things, run into things, or fall down. ||Only close friends and relatives should visit you during your first month at home. They should not visit if they are sick ||Always check the water temperature with your hand before bathing your baby. Be sure the room is comfortably warm, too ||Use a firm mattress and avoid placing your baby on thick, fluffy padding that may interfere with breathing if your baby's face presses against it ||Colostrum is rich with all what baby needs for the first 2-3 days till the breast begins to produce milk ||After the first hectic weeks, babies take longer naps at predictable times. And you'll become a much better time manager ||If you have trouble emptying your breast, apply warm compresses to the breast or take a warm shower before breast-feeding ||Don’t rush into solving your kid's problems. Give him the chance to conclude, all on his own, that things are going to be okay. ||Never tie a pacifier to your child’s crib or around your child’s neck or hand. This could cause serious injury or even death ||

• It is a physiological phenomenon due to spasmodic contraction of the diaphragm.
• it is mostly not a Warning sign for any critical illness which usually stops spontenuously.
• it is frequent in children and is usually more tolerable by them compared to the adults.
• it might interfere with breast feeding as the baby will stop suckling during Hiccup.
• It is more common with overfeeding or air swallowing with teat use.

Tips to stop Hiccup

  • The baby should be held in an upright position with gentle rubbing of his back
  • Drinking a small amount of warm water usually helps
