Proper weight gain is the sign that your baby is having enough milk. Not crying and not comparing with other kids ||Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently. It’s not the type of soap that prevents the spread of bacteria and viruses; it’s how you wash your hands. ||By rising the temperature, the body can stop a virus's ability to grow. That's why we get fevers ||The pacifier’s guard or shield should have ventilation holes so the baby can breathe if the shield does get into the mouth ||Massaging infants' arms and hands can significantly reduce their pain from needle sticks ||Whenever possible, don't get involved in your kids' clash. Step in only if there's a danger of physical harm. ||To help your kid stand up to negative peer pressure, encourage him to talk, use role playing with him, get to know the parents of your child's friends and finally deal with your own peer pressure. ||Sleep sacks and sufficient layers of clothing are safe alternatives to blankets for children less than six months of age ||Only close friends and relatives should visit you during your first month at home. They should not visit if they are sick ||The only acceptable punishment for our children is time-out. No spanking, no shouting and no threatening ||

What causes speech delay?
Speech delay occurs in up to 10 percent of children. The most common causes of speech delay include:
1. Mental Retardation
2. Hearing Loss
3. Maturation Delay
Other causes might include
4. The child just doesn't want to talk (Elective mutism)
5. Bilingualism
6. Psychosocial Deprivation
7. Autism
What can my doctor do to find out if speech delay is the problem? • Listening to your child's speech
• checking your child's mental development
• hearing test
What can be done if my child has speech delay?
• Some children just take more time to start talking so your child might not need any treatment.
• The treatment Protocol depends on the cause of the speech delay.
• A speech and language pathologist might be helpful in making treatment plans.
• In some cases an audiologist (a hearing doctor), a psychologist (a specialist in behavior problems) is needed to share in treatment protocol.
