Make a habit out of drinking a glass of water every time you feed your baby. This will ensure that you are getting your water, and help your body produce enough milk. ||Don't forget to watch what you say and do around your child: Imitation is one of the ways toddlers learn socially acceptable behavior. ||Infant constipation is the passage of hard, dry bowel movements — not necessarily the absence of daily bowel movements ||The more you help your toddler put his feelings into words (“I’m mad. I want the truck.” “I’m sad. I can’t find my bear.”), the less they will show aggressive behaviour. ||Children who gain weight quickly during their first six months are more likely to be obese or at risk of obesity by age 3 ||Trim your baby’s nails weekly after a bath when the nails are softened ||Don’t forget to put labels with date and time on your expressed milk bottles to check expiry dates ||Use a firm mattress and avoid placing your baby on thick, fluffy padding that may interfere with breathing if your baby's face presses against it ||Look for early signs of hunger, such as stirring and stretching, sucking motions and lip movements. Fussing and crying are later cues ||

What causes speech delay?
Speech delay occurs in up to 10 percent of children. The most common causes of speech delay include:
1. Mental Retardation
2. Hearing Loss
3. Maturation Delay

4. The child just doesn't want to talk (Elective mutism)
5. Bilingualism
6. Psychosocial Deprivation
7. Autism
What can my doctor do to find out if speech delay is the problem? • Listening to your child's speech
• checking your child's mental development

What can be done if my child has speech delay?
• Some children just take more time to start talking so your child might not need any treatment.
• The treatment Protocol depends on the cause of the speech delay.
• A speech and language pathologist might be helpful in making treatment plans.
• In some cases an audiologist (a hearing doctor), a psychologist (a specialist in behavior problems) is needed to share in treatment protocol.
