Never tie a pacifier to your child’s crib or around your child’s neck or hand. This could cause serious injury or even death ||The only acceptable punishment for our children is time-out. No spanking, no shouting and no threatening ||As a new mommy, sleep when your baby sleeps. Silence your phone and ignore the dishes in the sink ||Proper weight gain is the sign that your baby is having enough milk. Not crying and not comparing with other kids ||AAP recommends to avoid blankets (a potential suffocation hazard) until your baby reaches her first birthday ||Only close friends and relatives should visit you during your first month at home. They should not visit if they are sick ||Trim your baby’s nails weekly after a bath when the nails are softened ||As a new baby mother who has to breast feed you should make sure that you drink lots of water ... Make a habit out of drinking a glass of water every time you feed your baby. This will ensure that you are getting your water, and help your body produce enough milk. ||Reflux is common in newborns. Most babies outgrow reflux between the time they are 1 and 2 years old ||Try to develop passions outside of work. Don't define yourself by your job, and have the courage to be imperfect. ||

Iron-Fortified Formula may be associated with Neurodevelopmental Delays for Healthy Infants

 

In healthy, well-nourished infants without anemia, the use of high-iron (12 mg/L ferrous sulfate) vs low-iron (2.3 mg/L ferrous sulfate) formula for 1 year after age 6 months is associated with significantly lower scores on spatial memory and visuomotor integration at 10 years and potentially lower scores for IQ, visual perception, and motor coordination.

 

In infants who are iron-sufficient in the first year of life, use of a high-iron vs a low-iron formula for 1 year from age 6 months is associated with a significantly lower IQ score (by 11 points) at 10 years.
